Carolina Brown
About
Carolina Brown (Santiago, 1984) started writing and drawing at an early age. At university, she switched from drawing to photography but never stopped writing. She has a BA in Hispanic Language and Literature from the University of Chile, a BA in Multimedia and Digital Communications from the Universidad del Pacífico Chile and completed a MA in Literary Creation at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
She has taught creative writing, literary appreciation and digital photography at universities, cultural centres and companies in Santiago, Barcelona, Cambridge and Berlin.
Her works include En el agua (2015), selected by the Chilean National Book Fund; El final del sendero (2018), Rudas (2019), Nostalgia del desierto (2021); the young adult novel Duncan (2022), winner of IBBY Chile’s Colibrí Medal in 2023; and the short story collection Principio de Incertidumbre (2024). Her books and short stories have been published in Chile, Argentina, Spain, Germany and the UK. She currently lives in Berlin.
